TAMPA, Fla., October 19, 2026: Ciphersound Inc. today announced the launch of Cipherscan, a platform that shows organizations how ready their public-facing and internal systems are for post-quantum cryptography (PQC). Cipherscan is available today on a free tier, with direct signup and no sales call required.
Quantum computers capable of breaking today’s public-key encryption have not arrived yet, but the risk is already here. Adversaries can record encrypted traffic now and decrypt it later, a tactic known as “harvest now, decrypt later.” Regulators in the US and EU have set migration timelines for organizations to adopt post-quantum cryptographic algorithms across their technology infrastructure.
What Cipherscan does at launch
Cipherscan gives security and infrastructure teams three capabilities:
01
Platform-run domain scanning. Add your internet domains and Cipherscan checks which TLS key-exchange groups each one negotiates, including NIST-standardized ML-KEM and hybrid post-quantum groups. Results can be evaluated against policies from NIST and European authorities such as the Dutch NCSC.
02
Private scanning with the Cipherscan CLI. A self-hosted scanner, downloadable after registration, that probes internal hosts from inside your own network. It is a simple tool you run manually, with no agents, new services or complex infrastructure, and it emits structured results you upload to Cipherscan, so internal systems are covered without exposing the internal network to the internet.
03
Policy engine. Check results against US federal and EU post-quantum frameworks and track compliance over time.
The free tier includes scanning for up to 3 domains. Everything is organized by project, so teams can keep different environments or business units apart from day one.
“The post-quantum migration is one of the largest cryptographic changes the internet has ever made, and you can’t migrate what you can’t see,” said Chris Elbring, CEO of Ciphersound Inc. “Cipherscan gives teams clear, measurable data, enabling organizations to track their journey toward a PQC future over time.”
What comes next
The launch is the first step in a roadmap that moves Cipherscan from measuring readiness to managing the whole migration. Planned next, in no particular order:
Paid tiers for teams. Workspaces, multiple projects and users, coverage of up to 10,000 domains, and longer data retention.
Readiness reports. Cipherscan turns scan data into shareable reports, evaluated against the policy frameworks of your choice.
Alerting. Get notified when a host drifts back from post-quantum support or a certificate changes.
Passive traffic analysis. Use the Cipherscan CLI to analyze captured network traffic (PCAP), revealing what is actually negotiated on the wire without active probing.
QUIC and SSH support. Extend readiness checks beyond TLS over TCP.
“Visibility is where it starts, not where it ends,” Elbring added. “Our goal is a single place to see, prove and drive post-quantum readiness, from the public website down to the libraries on every server.”
